Lineage Woven Vinyl Tile has a unique styling and function, with the textured appearance of carpet, and the easy to care for properties of vinyl flooring.

The commercial grade tile backing provides stability to each tile, preventing curling of the edges. The vinyl surface repels liquid spills and stains from foot traffic and cleans with wet mopping.

For a temporary exhibit space, double face tape can be used. For long-term applications a releasable tile adhesive can be used. It is recommended to quarter turn the tiles for a subtle display of woven texture and a virtually seamless floor. The 50cm square tiles can be cut in any direction without raveling.

The tiles are also available in two meter wide rolls with a heavy weight vinyl backing. They can be used outdoors and are stable when loose-laid over cement. An unusual challenge came recently from Timot McGonagle, a producer/designer. He had been contracted by Catersource magazine to create the "Orb," Catersource's showcase event at their upcoming 2006 Annual Conference & Tradeshow in Las Vegas.

McGonagle's ambitious plan was to turn the ballroom into a giant Cosmic Compass with each of the four featured caterers being a destination point. A 16' inflatable sphere suspended over a 40' wet-look dance floor would become the nucleus of the party within the Bally's Event Center.

The Orb was to become a 360-degree projection screen showcasing an opening video and dance. McGonagle needed a highly reflective black floor to mirror the custom video and dance performance that unveiled the event. Later in the evening, the dance floor and sphere became the hottest club in town as more than 1,600 guests danced until midnight while the latest music videos and optical effects were projected overhead. The floor had to be laid flat and fast in a very tight load-in time, but durable enough for dancers and guest alike.
